Short School bus renovation continued

I have started a youtube account so you can go follow that

Next, my parents put down the flooring and made the two benches that fold down into beds.

Dad got a piece of steel custom-made to fit in the staircase and at the back of the bus where the kitchen will be instead of wood flooring so it wouldn't rot when it gets wet. They also put cardboard on the floor so the wood wouldn't get scratched. In this Tik Tok I talk about the floor plane of the bus as well.

Avery and I started sanding the paint on the outside of the bus we want to paint the bus a different colour so we need to sand the paint to make it grippy so the new paint will stick. We have decided to leave the front and the top of the bus yellow and we are going to paint the rest a light aqua colour. It took us like two weeks to sand it because we wore babysitting all week and working one day on the weekends. We sanded with an orbital sander, by hand in the sections that we couldn't do with the electrical sander and to remove the stickers we used a steel bristle grinder. Well, we wore sand my parents started working on the electrical putting in the outlets and light switches. My dad also welded a bunk bed contraption that folds into the wall, a ladder on the outside of the bus to access the roof and a rack on the top for storage.

My parents put up the chimney on the top of the roof and started installing the insulation on the lower half of the bus below the windows, then they put the wood on it. After installing all the electrical stuff they put the insolation on the top half of the walls, ceiling and put the steel sheets back up on the ceiling. The fridge and fireplace also arrived. Avery and I also finished sanding the outside of the bus.

The video that I made is not of every day they are the progress on the bus about once a week.

We got a lot done this week my parents installed the two fold-out beds and the bunk bed. My mom made some shelves and pullout drawers under the bench beds. In this video, I show you how the bunk bed and bench beds pull out the bunk bed will have a steel sheet on it shortly. I will also show you the mini fireplace we got.

My mom made more shelves for the bus and put stoppers at the edge of the shelves. She also built the base for the kitchen counter and sanded the countertop before placing it on the base to store for the night. My mom also screwed corkboard on the back rounded corners of the bus and weel welds where it was hard to install wood. She installed insolation on the front of the bus too. My dad helped her make some of the shelves and welded the steel sheet on the bunk bed. The custom-made Cedar bathtub also arrived it is from the same company that made our wood-heated hot tube from Woodchuckers Manufacturing in Timmins Ont. My dad also put screws in the ceiling for our aerial hammock. He also installed the lights in the ceiling and their light switches.

I will continue talking about the bus renovation in the next post. If you have any questions or comments feel free to email me backpackergirlz@gmail.com or you can comment on this post.
